Marshall Dry Goods

I'm visiting my daughter in Memphis and she had to work today so I took a trip to Batesville to buy some fabric. I've never been to Marshall's before, so I'm glad I've joined the club. I got lots of new additions for my stash. :)

Sweet! I love to order from them but haven't been able to visit yet ;)

I love their online store--hope to visit the real one sometime. Congrats on your visit.

Got to visit there last year and loved it. It is probably good I live several hours away.

My sister has been there several times. Once she came home with 36 whole bolts.

I buy 99% of my fabric from Marshall's as it is only about a 2 hour drive for me. I see many quilt shop vans in the parking lot when I'm there too. Marshall's is a fabric distributor. There have other buildings full of fabric other then the one open to the public. When I go I get a rep to sign my ticket so I can buy whole bolts at wholesale price. Cut off the bolt by the yard cost more as they have to pay employees to cut but still a bargain. My two friends and I split 15 yard bolts so we each get 5 yards each. Usually $2.98 a yard but none over $3.98 a yard since, my last trip.

I have a question for those of you who are MDG regulars. They had a ton of MDG fabrics that would be considered blenders at a great price. But they didn't feel like LQS quality - lots of sizing, a bit rough. I bought a few yards to test but wondered what your experience has been. I did buy 5 yards each of their solid dream cotton in black and white - it felt like good quality. But I didn't want to buy a lot of the blenders and then not use them once I got them home.
