Matching front and back

Does anyone have any tips on how to match the front and back of a mirror quilt. If there is a tutorial on youtube that would be great. I looked but didn't find one. Thanks so much for all your help!!!;)

Hmmmn, I'm no help. What is a mirror quilt? I'll have to come back to this thread and see what responses you get, I might learn something. Good luck.

This is how I did it. I got some thumb tacks and put them thru the points that I wanted to match on the backing. Seems to me I also put a small square of painter's tape over the head of the tack so it wouldn't fall out when I turned it over. I put the backing on a work surface, carefully smoothed the batting over, then carefully put the top on, using the tacks to match appropriate points. Watch that you don't lean on the quilt with those tacks sticking up!!! I then pinned it & quilted it on my domestic machine.

Thanks that sounds like a good idea!

Mirror image is back is same design as front so you have to match all the seams and points.

I don't do mirror image but I do make double sided quilts. I tie some long yarns on all four centers on both pieces so that when I cover the bottom side with the batting I can still align the top. Just takes a little extra time. If we were in a hurry would could go to Walmart and buy a blanket.

WOW, I had a customer who pieced her backing the exact same size of her top. It was extremely difficult to line them up. I think it took me 3 hours to pin baste that quilt and I will NEVER do that again.
