Queen size quilt patterns
 

Would like to find queen size patterns that tell me exactly how to construct the quilt -- I'm a newbie & not confident with adjusting or modifying patterns -- in time & practice I will get there but right now I would like to be successful. I have read where some of you say there are patterns with multiple sizes- I would love to know where to find those. I will be very grateful for any help you can give me.

Most individually packaged patterns will have multiple sizes. If you have a quilt shop near you, you could browse there. Most quilting magazines will have different quilts in different sizes. They may not have a single quilt in multiple sizes, but within the same issue they will have different quilts in different sizes. Again, a browsing opportunity.
Finally, you can always use a smaller quilt on a bigger bed! Here's a discussion from earlier today:

Another option would be to go to http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html and find a block you really like and make enough to fit your bed and add a border around the outside. They have a lot of blocks to choose from and a lot that are marked with one pin (easy).

Atkinson Designs has many designs in multiple sizes. Nicely written and easy to follow.

Also take into consideration what queen size means to you. I prefer my quilts to reach to the floor on the sides of the bed so always add extra blocks there.

As far as patterns go, do you have a library near you that has quilting magazines to borrow? That would be a start for browsing coloured patterns.

A log cabin quilt block can be set into many designs like katier825's avatar quilt picture. Simple to construct, fun to do and beautiful to look at. Elenore Burns site, Quilt in a day, has many easy quilts to make in a queen size easy enough for a newbie to make.

I am not saying katier825 is a newbie or to downplay her beautiful quilt. I just saw hers and remembered elenore's site and how I love her patterns.

I agree, I would stick to an easy pattern like EB @ Quilt in a Day. Queen size is not the best size to start as a newbie. There are pitiful dealing with your seam accuracy, sewing a large row of blcoks along with attaching borders. Good Luck. My first quilts were lap size.

I agree with using an Eleanor Burns quilt pattern. They list all sizes, how much of what to cut for each size, and walk you through construction. Try your local library to look at her Quilt in a Day books.

I am a member of the Eleanor Burns fan club as well however, another site you may want to check out is FaveQuilts.com they have everything you could possibly want with many patterns available. They also have a category for bed quilts under that you'll find queen size just go from there. Good luck!
