This quilt started as a BOM from Prairie Chicks in Saskatchewan, several years ago. But what do you do with only 12 blocks? I started adding blocks a few at a time, choosing from Quilterscache.com, my quilt block bible, and a few from my own imagination. I tried new techniques--like hexies, bargello, paper piecing, and applique. Each block finished at 12 inches. The border is completely paper pieced. There are 56 unique blocks and the whole thing measures 103"x118". It will be going to the Long-armer in April. I am very pleased with the final result. Thanks for looking.

Wow, that's a terrific top!

Wonderful job on the quilt! I enjoy trying to name some of the blocks. Your quilt inspector looks like he is carefully checking the border. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful quilt, and I love the colours you chose. Looks like a lot of work but very much worth it. Thank you for sharing.

Whoa..Love that top..It's beautiful. Looks like a lot of work..and a lot of fun.

Beautiful! How in the world were you able to have enough coordinating fabric to make it that large? If I even attempted that I'd be at the fabric store every few days in fear I couldn't match what I had.
Fantastic job!! |
