Universal ZigZag 121766

Bought this machine for $20 and had the electrical replaced and serviced and it runs like a charm.
Does anyone have an idea how old this machine is?

Wow, a beautiful machine and in beautiful condition. Nice score! My guess is late '50s, possibly very early '60s. I lean '50s due to the distinct two-tone, the rounded body, the script on the badge. Just a guess, though.

I'm just having trouble threading it ...most of these machines look like they thread differently.
And Thanks! It is beautiful!
I read that the # tells you how old it is..

To thread put a spool of thread on the spindle.
Run the thread to the thread guide above the tension.
Run the thread around the right side of the tension
Catch the tension spring then go back up.
Raise your take up lever with the hand wheel and run the thread through it.
Run the thread through the thread guide and down to the needle.
That needle is going to go flat side toward the needle holding groove in the needle bar.
Then you can thread the needle - thread goes through the groove side of the needle.
Make sense?
Hang on to that tough stuff machine you are going to really LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
That machine has L-R-C for your needle position!!! (another good reason to hang on to that one)
The zz setting is below that. Slide the lever in the center and turn a knob to hold it in place. If you want to do a monogram with different width you can just slide the zz lever around and get tapered ends or what ever you want to do with it. NICE.

Thank you thank you so much! I sewed a little with it last night and I love it!
I'm so old school...I can't get into computerized machines.
I sew 6 hours a day 6 days a week and this is going to make me so happy!

Is there a thread cutter on this machine?
