Hand Stitched Projects

I am looking for some easy hand stitched projects that I can use as a program for one of our quilt guild meetings. I don't want the members to have to bring their machines and would like to be able to finish the project at the meeting. Thanks for any ideas.

There was a pattern for a needle case made from hexies. That was a couple years ago and I don't remember where I found it. Maybe Tipnut. It was easy though.

I vote for the hexes epp. if you go to paperpieces.com, they will send you little kits with the fabric precut and hexes. all they need is thread needle and scissors,

Wool appllique is very popular here. There are a lot of cute wool "penny rugs," and "candle mats." And there's Buttermilk Basin who makes some cute mini quilts for each month with wool applique. Here's a link: http://www.buttermilkbasin.com/shop-online.htm

How about making Yo-yos from print fabric and attaching them to a circle of solid fabric for a table doily or candle mat.

I went to an area day and came home with a strawberry pin cushion. Fabric and stuffing was provided and we all took our own needles, thread and scissors. The teacher had our stuffing in little packs the fabric already cut to size. We did a running stitch around top stuffed then tightened to stop stuffing coming out. There were a couple of green leaves. I think a long loop or straight cord would have finished it off. We paid £1 to cover cost of requirements provided.

the puppies have played with it kittens I've used it for putting pins in. All in all it was a well spent pound.

I do mostly hand sewing. I would do 2 nine patches and sew them together for a flat pin cushion that fits in a travel case. You can finish this in one evening. Vi
