Vacation!!!
Howdy y'all 😃
I'll be leaving Friday afternoon to go to San Diego to spend two whole weeks with my BFF! I haven't been to CA in 30 years, and I'll be interested to see just how much my old stomping grounds have changed! Since I haven't been there in so long, and since I wasn't a quilter when I was there, I'd love to know if there are any quilt shops or other quilting related places I should visit. Anybody?? 😀 Donna |
Check out the San Diego Quilt shop hop. That will give you a list of the quilts stores and locations. Best is Rosie's Calico Cupboard. I have told everyone I want to go to the Cozy Quilt shop (for my birthday). Owner is the one who invented the tube strip ruler.
Enjoy the weather !!! |
I have no idea but have a great time!!

Rosie's is the best in the area, but it can be overwhelming. They have thousands of bolts of all kinds of fabric. There is also "Fat Quarters" in Vista, but it is mostly calico type fabrics. Have fun in sunny SoCal!

I've no idea but enjoy the trip and be sure to fill your suitcase with lots of fabrics to take back.

You should definitely visit this museum. It's about $7 to get in. Not too big so it isn't overwhelming. Always worth the time. </header>http://www.visionsartmuseum.org/ Rosie's is the best quilt shop but Quilt in a Day in San Marcos has a room full of bolts of $6 fabric. |
Definitely Cozy Quilts

30 years  There are parts of San Diego you will not recognize.
This is list of all the shops in the 2014 hop its pretty accurate to what we still have and truthfully all most all of them had something very appealing that has had me venturing out of my usual comfort zone and back to them again. The places that I find myself in most often mostly because they are 2 of the closeset ones to me are Rosie's she has a huge selection of fabrics some of them are San Diego fabrics that you can only get from there that are wonderful. Cozy has a nice size selection of fabrics tons of easy to follow patterns most of which they wrote. I love that they are precut friendly, always give the yardage requirements and directions for multiple sizes of quilts. However anytime I find myself in the north county I go to quilt in a day. It's huge and I love the "warehouse" size clearance fabric section. Be sure to also check out all the antique stores in La Mesa and Ocean Beach. Seaport village and harbor drive are beautiful as is Coronado and Libery Station. I could go on forever Quilter's Cottage 131 E.
