Quilt labels on pfaff 4.2?

I am really struggling to make quilt labels with my Pfaff 4.2. It will embroider just ok but puckers. It unravels and looks messy if I snip the jump stitches. I've never done this before But I can't get a label that looks decent and I need to get one made for a quilt promised to my daughter in law. Any suggestions on how to make this fo more smoothly would be very much appreciated.

thank you!

Starch the fabric heavily first. Make sure you have enough stabilizer under the design before you hoop it.

If it's puckering, it's probably because you need a heavier stabilizer. Starching heavily will also help.

I have had the best luck with a wash away sticky stabilizer. You hoop the stabilizer, score the paper and remove the paper. Then place the fabric on top of the sticky. Trim away the excess stabilizer. Works great for me!

Are you clipping the jump stitches on the back too close, you should always leave at least 1/2 inch of thread or it will unravel the front.

You might try making practice labels using different types and weights of stabilizer.

Ok, heavier stabilizer. Got it. I thought it would make it too stiff, but clearly it is needed. And I will starch like crazy. Thank you!

Use light weight bobbin thread for upper thread as well as in the bobbin. This works especially well when the words on the label are small.

I make all my quilt labels on my embroidery machine. I hoop 1 or 2 layers of tear away and float a layer of heavy cut away under the hoop. This way I can cut away the cut-away close to the stitching. I also make my labels in a triangle shape so only need to hand sew one edge down when putting on the binding.
