Dressmaker dial zigzag sewing machine

I found a dressmaker dial zigzag machine model 4000 serial number 31781 on the curb it works and is in need of a manual or instruction booklet. Do you know where I can find one of these? I hope you can help me find one of these. Thank You.

Nice find and welcome! Manuals for the old Japanese machines are always an issue. You might try SewUSA online. They sell a lot of manuals for different machines. Also, it's possible your machine was made under more than one brand. You might find a manual for a different brand but the machine itself will be identical to yours.
If you have basic questions about threading, maintenance and things of that nature we can help you here too.

I have a Dressmaker SWA 2000. How is yours different?
We talked about my machine here (includes photos):

The pdf manual for that machine is available in the Files section of the yahoo group "vintagejapansewingmachines":

You need to be a member to get access.

Hope this helps.

Can you post some pictures? They really are worth a thousand words. Plus, we just love looking at the machines.

I have the cams, see photos in the above post. My machine does not work in ZZ because a plastic gear is absent.....
