Help with ideas how to quilt a panel picture quilt

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I have finished making the quilt top. It is a panel picture window quilt and I need some suggestions as to how to quilt it. I don't want to take away from the picture but have to quilt it. I would love to hear from some of you with suggestions. I attached a picture of the top. Sorry the picture is a bit distorted. Hard to take a good picture with quilt top laying on the floor. Thanks in advance. Ricka

Use the clear poly thread and you can quilt almost anything. I would just go around everything.

Neat top!I would start with SITD on all the straight lines. This helps to keep them straight as you do other quilting. I would then do line of quilting in the gray and white parts following the angle of the perspective to enhanced the depth. I would then work on outlining the elements in the picture part. If needed I would do a bit of thread painting also. The borders I would quilt in some texture with matching thread.

Thanks the idea of outlining elements in picture is what I thought also. Great idea for gray and white. Thank you

I love the above ideas and can't think of any way to improve on them, but I just wanted to say this is a really pretty quilt. Love what you've done with the panel!

I prefer matching my top thread and then outline the garden giving some depth to the landscaping. As Tartan stated above, be sure to do you straight stitching in the ditch first to secure the quilt.

Thanks everyone. I have already done the stitching in the ditch. I am now proceeding to quilt straight lines in the frames and then will do the outlining. I will post a picture when finished. Ricka

That is just beautiful! I love it! I just don't think you can go wrong with your quilting...it would be just as pretty with meander.
