Has anyone used this rotating mat and if so how do you like it. Thank you sew much for any input.

I've never seen that one before. I have the square Olfa one.

I have one of these mats. I don't use it because it is not firm enough in the middle.
|
Looks interesting I have the square one which is useful for squaring blocks.
|
I have a square one and love it!
|
I have always preferred Omnigrid mats since they are thicker than the Olfa. They are available only online at JAF so I just wait until the day after Thanksgiving when they usually go on sale.
|
I have one of the square Olfa rotating mats as well. Don't use it all that often but it is wonderful for squaring up - especially HST's!

I googled "rotating cutting mat" and found a Martelli 16" round mat for $27.19 at Staples.com. Michaels and JoAnns.com both had Olfa and Fiskars 8x8" (around $15) and 12-1/2 x 12-1/2" (around $35). I have the 8x8, and it is great for trimming HSTs and would work well for cutting pieces with small templates. Also, if weighs almost nothing and I take it to classes and retreats just in case it might come in handy. I have seen the Martellis demonstrated at the Houston Quilt Festival, and they are very well built.

Thanks for your thoughts, quilters! Clearly, there is a wide range in pricing for this item!

I have one made by Elna. It is a rectangle that a new mat will fit and be flush. The one I have in it is one Tuesday Morning has in stock now. I had an Olfa and a Fiskars in it before. It is heavy and does not tip even if I cut on the end. It's the best I've used. I bought it before the rotating mats became round or square. I have searched online and haven't found another like it.
