Instant foot control wrap

I hate finding a neat old sewing machine that has been all scratched up by foot pedals.
HHHMMMM..........
I have a huge pile of upholstery fabric. I was exploring some ideas and trying to come up with a pattern for a foot control cover. I know. I know. It should be simple sew across a jeans leg and shove the foot pedal inside..... but I have time on my hands....... Anyway. I made a pattern out of paper then thought I would test it with some scrap fabric. I grabbed an old T-shirt to do the deed. Then I was getting ready to cut out my pattern and I thought......... oh oh........ How can I do this with out much sewing...... Well the foot control was right handy and I thought why not stick it in the sleeve!!! Then why not make it wrap around the machine's arm... SO here is it the 5 second foot control cover. Lay the shirt out flat. Cut a little wider than the pedal (or up the middle as you like) in from the side from bottom to top or top to bottom depending on your mood. Shove the pedal in the sleeve, set it on the machine, wrap the long part over the arm and then under the pedal. That's it.

Oh did I mention you get 2 out of one T-shirt and maybe a cleaning rag???

OK. I put the pedal inside the sleeve, tucked the long part under, wrapped it around the arm and here it is on the machine:

I use T-shirts and old shoe laces and make drawstring bags but I love the no-sew idea. :D

Gee, we're so fancy here!

I just made a drawstring bag for one of mine and plan to make more.

Miriam,

Great use for unneeded t-shirts.

I really don't want to sew 200 draw string bags then put strings in them. This is easy.

You could do this with a t-shirt from which you have cut out the front (or the back) to make a t-shirt quilt. Just sew the sleeve shut on the bottom hem and tuck the control in there.
