Help with straight machine quilting

I am trying to quilt an appliqués block quilt and have pin basted but top keeps bunching. Took my machine in and had it cleaned and serviced as well as feed dogs adjusted but it is still pulling. I'm using a walking foot and have never had problems like this with my Viking 960. Any ideas would be welcome
thanks

Can you do a test with another quilt sandwich to see if it the machine or the fabric? It sounds like the walking foot is pulling but not the feed dogs. You had the machine serviced, but did they bring them back up?

Are you sure that you have installed the walking foot correctly? Every machine is different so get out the instructions and double check!

Is you quilt supported?? If you quilt is hanging over the sides, the weight of the quilt could be pulling at your stitching. Look closely to make sure that the feed dogs and the walking foot are working together in unison.

Is the arm on the walking foot over the needle bar? Make sure all of the quilt is even with the machine bed.

Starching the back and top can help. If it's already sandwiched, use several layers of spray starch. You can use a fan to speed up drying between layers. Starch stabilizes the fabric.

I also wonder if your walking foot is working properly. The purpose of the walking foot is to move the upper layer; it sounds as if this is not happening.

When you took your machine in, did you take your walking foot too so they could check it out? Also, are you using a generic walking foot or a walking foot made especially for your machine. That can make a difference.

Try without the walking foot. Perhaps there is too much bulk for that foot to work properly.

Yep. Check the walking foot. First machine I had the bar went over the needle screw. Next machine it had prongs that went around the screw. Made a huge difference when I got it right

I photo would really help. I'm trying to figure out whether you already appliqued onto the quilt top before you layered or whether you are trying to applique & quilt all at once.
