When to take a break

It's funny how little things are a signal for you to take a break. Yesterday I was diligently working on this quilt and thought I would be able to get the top finished. I had the top four rows already sewn together with sashing and corner stones done. I was making headway after completing the next two rows with sashing and corner stones done. Pinned it on the design wall and started to work on the last two rows. As I was sewing, I glanced at the design wall and said, "Oh No!". I knew it was time to take a break. Which I did. Today I will rip out the sashing from the two rows and take apart the sashing. Then do the correct colors for that row of sashing. Maybe today I will get the top done. I'm really happy I noticed the error now rather than when the top was all done. This quilt is a Christmas gift for a 15 year old.

I see where you want the same colours running through the blocks but I like the design the opposing sashing gives. It going to be lovely whatever you do. When I make a boo boo, it's time for a QB break.:D

Yes, it seems when we push ourselves, we are bound to get into trouble. Very attractive quilt. Thank goodness for design walls. They have saved me from making some pretty stupid mistakes.

It took me a long time to see it. It's going to be a beautiful quilt.

Sorry about your little "mistake" but your quilt is so lovely that I think I would just make the last two rows look like the "mistake" rows and put it at the top to balance it. Only you will know? But of course you have to live with it so you need to do what you need to do. Can you tell I hate to rip especially once I am that far along? That 15 year old is a lucky person to get this quilt!
