Raico Featherweight Sewing Machine on GW

Here's one for those that are looking for a lightweight 3/4 size machine that uses the Class 15 vertical end loading bobbin system.

It will need a slide plate, I think the Singer 99 style will fit, and rewired. Neither is a big deal to me.

I have one of these machines, but it's badged as a SEWMOR. Sews better than the 99s.

I thought the Sewmor was a straight 99 clone?
The Raico looks like they took a 15, a featherweight and a 99, mixed them together and then threw them in a pan and baked until done.
Interesting little machine.

Rodney,

SEWMOR did both the 99K-10 clone and one that matches this Raico one. You're right though, that Raico looks like it was designed by a committee. All I really know about it is that it sews really good.

Sewmor "Lightweight" great name

Thanks Joe. I think this is the first I've seen the Raico/Sewmor machines.

Rodney,

I've posted about them before. Although I prefer the cast iron machines for most use, the smaller lighter metal ones can be real jewels to use. Especially if you're taking them with you.

I've posted about several of the Belair Bantams (just like my SEWMOR 303) and the SEWMORS for those who are looking for one like this. This Raico is the first of this badge name I've seen.

Had I the $$$$ I'd go for it and convert it to a HC model.

I've seen a few Bantams go by. The stars haven't aligned for me to grab one is all. I'll keep my eyes open for the Raico/Sewmors too.
