Another WNY'er! And a question

Hi! I'm Rayenbo (a name I made-up based on my middle name.) I am born & raised in SNOWLESS & WARM! Western New York. I recently returned to quilting about 2 years ago, when I wanted to make a special gift for my nephew's first baby (see my profile picture.) I rediscovered my love of quilt making. Love piecing, but not so much the 'quilting' process. So..... now I have to make a quilt for baby #2. Top is pieced, & I love it. I plan to gift it for Christmas. Yikes!!!! Not much time, I have to quilt it myself - on a regular sewing machine. Sew, here's my question - what thread do I use in my machine? Multi purpose or machine quilting? (Oh, and not only do I have this quilt to quilt, but I also have a quilt for baby# 1, my adorable niece! Yes, for Christmas!) Thank you for the assistance I know you friendly & knowledgeable quilters (I have looked at this forum MANY times, but hadn't registered, so I know you are wonderful people) will offer to me. My machine is a New Home Memory Craft 600, an oldie but it works well for most of my basic sewing needs. I use Coats & Clarkes thread- this is what is readily available for me.

Use a good quality thread that your machine likes. Aurifil is my favourite but I have used Coats & Clark, Superior, King Tut, Gutermens machine quilting thread as well.

WElcome from South Texas, Corpus Christi, way! Make sure you match the thread with the needle and your tension is right. I use a lot of Coats and Clark.

Amazing your weather is snowless and warm! We, too, have had unusually warm weather here in the beautiful mountains of NC, but that is forecast to change tomorrow. Welcome!

Welcome from NE Ohio and have the Merriest of Holidays! I love using King Tut for all my quilting.

Welcome from FREEZING Southern California. I use high quality thread like Aurifil or Mettler silk wrapped thread. I find the threads sold at JoAnn fabric tend to be very linty when using them to quilt with.
