Left homing, straight stitch, presser foot?

Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a straight stitch (or 1/4") presser foot for a super high shank, left homing Kenmore?

I know there's an adapter, but would it work for a left homing machine?

Thanks!

The adapter should work if you have the foot. On left homing machines it's the needle bar that's to the left, and the hole(or slot) on the foot, not the presser bar so the adapter should work with whatever feet you have. I don't know what all feet were made for that particular machine, but super high shank left homing has to be one of the least common configurations ever put out there. I know left homing straight stitch feet are the hardest to come by.

Thanks, Cari. Guess I'll just have to buy an adapter, and see what I can find to go on it.

This Kenmore is a very nice machine! But it would sell better if it was set up for quilting.

Sew-Classic sells straight stitch footsies for left homing machines.

I did not see a left homing foot when I browsed S-C a minute ago.

Annette,

I miss read your post. I didn't see the Super High Shank part. There's not much around for them. I've also not seen an adapter for those, just the regular High Shank machines. But I could have missed it.

Thanks, Joe and Marian. I guess it will have to go out like it is.

I haven't bought anything from this vendor before but they seem to have a few items that might interest you.

I have a 1978 Kenmore with the high shank and it came with a 1/4 inch and a 1/8 inch foot, both narrow metal feet-- only problem is that they are for straight stitch only -- the adapter would be nice as most of the other feet, at least those that came with my machine, give a more than 1/4 inch seam -- just buy an adapter that is for the high shank!!-- good luck

Notwendy, thanks for the link. Of course the feet that I really wanted are "no longer available."

Diane, it might be worth it to get the adapter. But then I'd have to raise my price. But at least I can let the buyer know what's available.

Thanks!
