I learn something new every time I make a quilt...

This time I have learned that if I am using 12 different shades of purple, and three of them have dots....I need to pay very close attention to what I am doing. :) Not only have I cut the wrong sizes of some of the dotted fabrics, but I have also reversed some of them when I sewed my pieces together. :( Good thing I have extra fabric.

But, I like learning stuff. Right??

I am having the same thing happen even though I am sewing/quilting a lot. Wondeer if I ever will get really smart.

Yep, you and me both, I do the same thing more than I care to admit....LOL

When does practice actually make perfect? Not in my quilting lifetime, I'm afraid.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Every quilt is a new adventure! At least for me.

Yes, like you, every quilt I make reminds me that I make mistakes way more often then I like to admit. But somehow the quilt turns out ok - or into a completely different quilt than the one I started.

I figure that if I don't learn something new with each quilt that it's time to start quilting and find something new to engage my brain--just wish that it mean that sometimes I learn the "hard way" via mistakes!

Mistakes are an opportunity to create something new and different. (Though I always buy extra fabric for the oops)

Mistakes!, I have learning curves, some much bigger than others but never a mistake.
