Boys need quilts too!
1 Attachment(s)
I've been making quilts for the Painted Turtle camp, which is a camp for sick or disabled kids. The camp runs year round and each camper gets a new quilt on their bunk which they can then take home. That's over 2000 quilts a year. When I contacted them they said hey mostly need quilts for boys aged 6-17. I totally assumed that anyway, girls quilts are a bit more fun. So I made this with a male in mind and am working on another now to send with it.

Great boys quilt! A cute and easy boys pattern to do is the skateboard quilt from MSQC video.

*** Really pretty quilt. Nice colors. I know some boy will enjoy it. *** *** Bless you for making them. *** |
What a big project -- so many quilts each year! Yours is great and sure to be enjoyed by a boy at camp.

Excellent "boy" quilt. I make donation quilts and try to look for boy fabrics without flames and skulls - sometimes difficult. Thanks for all you are doing for the kids!

Wonderful color way and design! You go girl!

Since I have two sons and three grandsons, of course they need quilts, too. Yours is very pretty and sure to be loved by some young man. Bless you for doing this.

What a great quilt!
I think it is also harder to make boy quilts because there is way more girl fabric out there. I make and donate quilts for the preemies at the NICU and it is the same, more girls quilts then boy quilts. So if I can I make boy quilts or gender neutral quilts. I find that big boys really like their quilts too so this jewel of a quilt will surely be loved. Great job and nice pattern that I think will appeal to a teen boy. |
Excellent quilt, some boy will love it.

Beautiful quilt! With 5 DGS I know that boys need quilts -- although one of mine loves purple so doing purple and boys is a struggle.
