Bernina 1006 foot pedal needed

Just bought a Bernina 1006 sewing machine with cord but no foot pedal. It was only $10, a school model, but in great shape. Bernina dealer said its $89 for a new one and I found it on eBay same price. Anyone know a cheaper place?

Those are pricey. I paid $90.00 for the last one I bought. But that fits a lot of models. I have 1020's and I think it is the same foot pedal. Careful of those school machines. Get a professional to clean it.

You want to keep searching on eBay for a Bernina foot petal for models 910-1630. I agree, take the machine in for servicing from someone who can service your Bernina.

Before I bought the 1006, I called my Bernina dealer Barb who is an expert on any Bernina. She talked to me about the sewing machine and said it will use the same feet that my Virtuosa uses and that it is a pretty good machine. It looks absolutely fantastic but alas, no foot pedal. She has one in her shop so I figure before I buy one myself, I will have her test this machine out. I took a chance on this $10 machine and if it doesn't work, I will just give it to her for parts. DH is taking a sewing machine repair class in Missouri in late April so I think this will be a great chance for him to learn how to clean a machine. Thanks everyone.

Have you tried Sewingpartsonlone? Just a thought as sometimes I find items their.

Ummm... I believe the 1006 needs the "old style" presser feet with the fork at the top. It wouldn't take the Virtuoso feet.

$90 (for foot pedal) + $10 = $100 That's a pretty great price for that machine. It has the Bernina oscillating hook system that makes an awesome stitch. It has a nice selection of stitches and a great buttonhole system.

I agree, take the machine for a professional cleaning. The service may have a controller or know where you can get one. The machine plug is the hardest to find. You may be able to use a solid state controller, if it is not one of the pneumatic controllers. The solid state controller was $16.95 from Sew-Classic.Com. Wire can be purchased at a local hardware store by the foot. The plug for the machine is the hardest to find. Your service person may have one that will work. Good luck.
I just remembered, there is a shop in central Illinois, where my DGD got her machine. The owner's husband is a certified Bernina repairman. He fixes FWs also. The shop is Peace and Applique in Rochester, Illinois. You might try emailing them for information.

The number for Peace And Applique is 217-489-6771 The email is peacenapplique.com. They may be able to advise.
The repairman is there on Thursday evening, but they can relay questions to him nightly.

It definitely takes the old style feet, the fork arrangement at the top of the foot is very different from the Virtuoso feet.
