Looking for title of old movie

Maybe someone will remember this black and white movie. I think it starred Bette Davis but not sure. It was about a woman obsessed with looking young, she had a grown daughter and wanted to seem younger then the daughter so much that she was on a boat in a bad storm but refuses to get out of the wind and rain and of course became very ill. When she recovered all her young looks were gone and she looked her age. She was very upset that her DD had an admirer that she thought was her admirer. I have searched all of BD movies but none had this plot line.

Dorian Grey is the only one that comes to mind but that was about a man obsessed.

OH gosh! you have me scratching my head on this one ,i love love watching the old movies maybe it could be joan crawford ?

I'm sure it wasn't Joan Crawford. I can see the image of her standing up in the boat refusing to get out of the wind and rain. At the end of the movie her DD came to tell her she was marrying the young man and left with him. DH said I probably dreamed the whole plot. I do dream long drawn out plotted dreams but this was a real movie.

There is one that sounds something like the plot that you remember. It is called The Star.

It isn't The Star which is an excellent movie.

Well, if you dreamed it then you shared it. I thought I was going to be able to go right to it, because it sounded so familiar. But I can't find it. I can picture the daughter but not her name - driving me crazy.

I know! I can see the images plain as day, even the clothes the mother and daughter were wearing. LOL It will drive me nuts.

If it is the story about Nora Desmond then the movie is Sunset Boulevard. That is about all I can think of.

You could look at IMDB.com or Wikipedia and see all the movies Bette Davis made. Maybe one of them will ring a bell
