This is my first applique...It was fun!...I ironed the freezer on right side of fabric..sooooooooo much easier to me..Of course my back is killing me. Standing over the ironing board...should have started with less pieces..
Going cut the back ground fabric off to make a smaller square then add different color stripes back around it to make square a 10x10.
It is going to be a lap quilt for my oldest daughter...she loves the retro owls..does this look retro??

oh my goodness! this is so darling! I love it and yes it looks retro! What is the name of your pattern?

It's adorable! Next time try lowering your ironing board and iron while sitting on a chair - it is a lot easier on my back that way.
