Supreme Slider

Thinking of purchasing one of these wondered if anyone has one and if they recommend it?

Thanks

If you do a search I'm sure you'll find lots of threads on this product.
I love mine and I've never had a problem with it moving, although others have mentioned this.

mine stays in place but it didn't make any easier for me to move the quilt around under the needle.
it wasn't as slippery as i expected/hoped.
i tried it a few times and then added it to my stash of "shouldn'a bothered."

they are quite popular, though, so i am open to the possibility that my issues with it relate somehow to operator head-space. :p

I stopped using mine a long time ago. It slid around so much I sewed through it & ended up with rips in it. I taped it down but that didn't work either. Nothing I tried worked.

it's been discussed here a lot. I mailed mine to a fellow quilter.

I like mine. I have an older machine in a cabinet and it stays put very well. It's worked well for me.

I have the queen size, and don't have any issues with it moving. I do find it easier to move the quilt with it and definitely notice when I forget it. I think it matters what you are "sticking" it to, and of course it need to be rinsed off to keep its tackiness.

I've been using one since I started FMQ, about 6 years ago on my DSM. It makes a big difference in moving my quilts around for quilting having tried it with and without the slider. I do some fairly large quilts and often use flannel or minkee for backing. I can't say it never moves because it has, somewhat. Enough that I have chewed up the opening for the needle area a little. In the last year or so I have been taping it down with masking tape because I didn't realize that it can be washed with warm water to remove lint and help with stability. Anyway, just ordered a new one from Amazon which comes with a pink foam backing now to help with placement. Can't wait to start with a new one!

I personally love mine. I wash & dry it at least once a day every time I quilt. That keeps it adhering to my platform. You also need to be sure to lower your feed dogs or it will get chewed up by them. Some people tape theirs to their platform/table to keep it flat. Some cut bigger holes so they can keep their feed dogs up. Seems like members either love or hate them, as you'll see from reading through all the comments.

Not sure that I would buy it again.
