Juki 2010Q oil
 

Made my very first big girl purchase today (Mother's Day present from my boys & hubby too). A new Juki 2010Q! So excited for it to arrive. I've read that they require lots of oil & the small unit it comes with will soon run out I imagine. What would you recommend I purchase to supplement? It's a big investment & I want to make sure I maintain it, so it doesn't go out to service (2 hrs away). Thank you in advance!

I would check what the manufacturer suggest. Don't buy anything cheap, just a good quality of oil.

i have a juki 2010q and the manual refers to a few drops of oil in several places....and IMHO, the oil that comes with it should last quite a while unless you use the machine 8 hours daily every day. But if that's the case you should get an industrial machine. :-) Be careful not to put too much oil in since then you'll have trouble with it leaking on your project.

As long as you use sewing machine oil you'll be fine. The bottle of Singer oil you can find at Walmart or JoAnns will do.

The tiny bottle that comes with it does last a long time, since you only need a drop or two in each hole. This is what my machine guy recommended. It's a good quality sewing machine oil. I expect it will last me a long time!

I have had my Juki for over 2 years...LOVE IT!!!

The original bottle lasted me over a year. I did buy another larger bottle from my dealer. It is called Alpha Sew Superior Sewing Machine Oil, and it is a 4 ounce bottle, have had it for 2 years and not even half gone! I believe this oil is sold on Amazon if you don't have a local dealer.

Just use a drop or two in each oiling spot. I used too much. No problems, just really messy. I replaced with a bottle of singer sewing machine oil.

Does anyone here use a specific oil dropper for their machine/recommendations?

I just used the bottle that came with the machine, being careful to go slow and gently squeeze out one drop at each spot. I also used fabric scraps to wipe off the surface if any went astray. The Alpha Sew bottle I bought and am using now has a really handy long narrow telescoping tube that slides out of the long nozzle and it makes it really easy to just get one drop out, then it slides right back down into the plastic bottle till next time!
