One down three to go!

I had four machines left on my want list...I knew they would be hard to find or as with the 222K out of my price range, BUT, I came across one at my local thrift store and I bought it even though it was pricey for a thrift store.
It is the Necchi Logica and not the badged Kenmore Sensor SEW. If it had been the badged Kenmore I would have passed it by but it was the Necchi so I grabbed it. She has a few dings and chips but nothing terrible. Worst one you can see to the left of the LOGICA NAME. I took the photos before I cleaned her up so she was still a little grimy. I have no idea if the Necchi's were made with better parts than the badged Kenmore but I have read that in various posts on the web. I just know it is super fun to look at and it has some really neat features. It sews well, not quiet but fun all the same. It will be a fun addition to the collection. I named her JUPITER. Jupiter because she looks like something from a space ship. I think I will make a see through cover for her just because I get a kick every time I look at her. :p:D Here are the pics: |
Another one of those "If you read it on the web it must be true". The Logicas and SensorSews were built on the same assembly lines by the same company and with the same parts. IIRC, Necchi had the idea but not the ability to produce them so they partnered with Sears(?) to produce the machines. Differences are cosmetic just like comparable Brothers and Babylocks.
Good going though, to get one on your short list. It is a very cool machine. Cari |

She does look like something from a space ship!

I've seen a lot of sewing machines but never ever one like this. It would be difficult to pass this one up.

Interesting machine. Glad you found one that was on your "list". :)

I would have grabbed it too. I like the looks of it. You will enjoy it, I know.

That is a very cool looking machine, I have never seen that one before. Looks like it might be fun to free motion quilt with.
