I am having trouble understanding how to put strips on fusible fabric do I sew it on even if fusible?

I don't understand what you are doing? Fabric strips and you are putting fusible Web or what on the fabric strips. I am sorry but can you explain more?

Sounds like you might be doing one of the Aunties Two bag patterns? I made the Tupelo Tag Alongs and will be making the Camden bag, too. In these patterns, you fuse the batting to the fabric strips before you fold and sew them.

We need more info. What are you working on and pictures can be a big help too. Are you doing applique or need stabilizing a tote or what.......? A pattern name can be real helpful too so we know what problem or question you are trying to solve or answer. Get back to us!

I see you are new here...are you also new to quilting/sewing? Where are you located? Where did you purchase the pattern/fabric. Perhaps the store employees can help you.....

I've seen some raw edge applique designs use strips in the background instead of piecing. Is that the case here? If so then yes, you should still sew the raw edge down, free motion, zig zag or blanket stitch would all work well.

Are your strips pre cut? Usually you put the fusible on the fabric and then cut your strips or other shapes from that. Is the fusible a stabilizer? Or is it double sided to hold the strip to other fabric? If the fusible has lines to follow by placing the strips on it then you press the strips to the pattern and then sew. Please post a picture or the pattern you are using. There are too many directions for your question.

I do a lot of wall hangings using fusible and I always finish the edges in some fashion so that the fabric is sewn to the background.

There is fusible that says "No sew", so be careful what type of fusible you purchase. I believe that type is more for banners and that sort of thing than it is quilts? (Can anybody correct me on this?)
