Question about one block wonder

What ruler do you use for one block wonder. The block that you need 6 repeats of fabric and it makes a star. Thanks for any help.

it depends on which pattern you are doing. If I remember correctly, the star is made with the Stack & Whack pattern rather then the OBW that makes a hexagon. I did 1 S&W and you really need the instruction book for that one since it has several different cuts and they have be be at the right angles on the right side of the fabrics. OBW hexagons are much easier since it is all equalateral triangles.

that the one I speaking about the OBW hexagon. I an going to buy the book but I am going to Joanne's this afternoon and thought I would buy the ruler while I was there.

The OBW hexagon depends on what size you cut your strips and the size of the triangles. If you already have an equalateral triangle ruler, you can use it. I have a big triangle and I just put a piece of tape on the line on the size I wanted.

As Tartan mentioned, you need an equilateral triangle (all 3 sides the same, or 60-60-60 degree triangle). Also, a OBW block shape is not a star, it's a hexagon. The fabric repeat gives a starburst effect.

Don't get a triangle ruler with the tip cut off. For the OBW you want to leave that tip on, to help in lining up the pieces.

Thanks about informing me about the tip of the ruler
