Any thoughts on how to repair!
Ok my puppies feel quilts are chew toys. One ate binding on one quilt- ok I know how to fix that. However the other ate a holes plus binding in another- and I just finished it last week and put in the bed! Grrrr. So any ideas how to repair!?!

Applique? I think that would be the easiest. (and maybe a time-out for the puppies. Bad doggies!!)

i just repaired my daughter's quilt... three large holes, two all the way through. I appliqued and quilted over it. the whites no longer match, but i feel that will make the quilt more 'authentic' years down the road.

I did this not long ago. Fortunately still had the original fabrics left over! I unquilted the area then I re-made the chewed blocks. I then unstitched the chewed blocks from the top. Managed to re-sew the new blocks into the top...probably by hand - sorry, don't remember exactly. I then hand patched a piece of batting and then ultimately 'appliqued' a piece of the backing over the offending hole. Re-hand quilted the area. It really wasn't as horrible as it sounds. The original hole was large enough for a large hand to fit through with room left over. The backing was a Moda marble flannel and hid the repair very nicely. By the time all was completed, you could not find where the original hole had been except for a slight color difference from the original fabrics due to wear/washing.

My friend's German Shepherd ate many holes in the quilt i had made for her. She un-quilted the whole quilt and removed the binding. I made new blocks and did my best to reconfigure the top using small pieces of the original fabric. I put new batting and backing on the quilt and re-quilted and bound the whole quilt. Here it is before and after. Far from perfect, but better than it was.
