Quilter's Cache Philadelphia Pavement block

Hi everyone.

I would like to make this 16" block from Quilters Cache http://www.quilterscache.com/P/Phila...entsBlock.html

I get the first three directions for cutting out strips of fabric in three colors. The next part reads as follows:

To speed piece the half squares, stack the Color 1 and Color 3 4-7/8" x 9-3/4" strips right sides together and all edges aligned.

Well, the first three instructions never call for any of the strips in this size. What am I missing?

Thanks, Pat

The instructions could be a little plainer. If you are going to sew the half square triangles individually, they size is given at 4-1/2. When you are speed pieces all in a row, you need to change the 4-1/2 to 4-7/8 so you can sew the 1/4 inch seam and then cut between them.

For some reason the "supplies list" is at the bottom of page 2. That's where they tell you the sizes of nieces to start with.

Thanks, Jennifer. I never looked on the second page but it surely is a strange place to put the supplies list!
