Tracking

How do you OR do you keep track of your fabric, notions purchases amounts & cost? I'm almost afraid to begin tallying and I've only been at this for less than 2 years...

I don't but I probably should start keeping track. Might slow down my "fabric gathering".

No, I definitely don't keep track of my fabric purchases or any of my crafty things. I have been quilting since 1989 and have built up quite a stash. I don't even want to know the value of all of the fabric I have and also don't want to give my hubby a heart attack!! LOL

i have no idea how much i've spent on anything other than my machines.
i know for sure it's been waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.
i have been cutting back on fabric purchases, though, for the past couple of years.
i "fell off the wagon" during the black friday sales but i did manage to get out of the way before the wagon rolled over me. lol

Somethings I don't want to know. Among them are vet bills, car bills and fabric bills. lol

Here is a link to a blogger who shows her "annual reckoning." The link will take you to 2014, but if you look you will also be able to see 2015 and 2016. I bookmarked her 2014 thinking, at the time, that I'd like to do something like this. http://withstringsattached.blogspot....4-edition.html

Yeah, two years later and I've bought lots more, but haven't done any tracking. As retirement is coming later this year, perhaps I'll finally get to it; I will have more time and less money.

I don't track mine, either.

I keep my receipts, and itemize supplies when I plan a project. I also keep a ( rough) record of time spent on each project.

Since I have been quilting since the 80's, you can imagine how much "stuff" is in my sewing room. Several years ago my husband walked in my room while I was working and asked me "how much do you figure all this fabric is worth, about $100? ". I answered "do you really think so?" He had his answer.
