5 inch charm packs

I have multiple 5" charm packs where the border of the squares look like they were cut with pinking shears. Do you sew the block with the uneven edge or do you cut the uneven edge off before sewing?

Thanks!!

I sew with the uneven edge. Seems to work ok.

Sew as is..yes, those edges are "pinked".....use the outer point as your edge of fabric when sewing your 1/4" seam. I think that's done so that in the mass production of these precuts there is less raveling...

I sew with the uneven edge too.

Definitely use as is, sometimes if I have a fabric that ravels a lot I will use my pinking shears to contain it. Besides if you cut it off you will no longer have 5 inches.

I always measure the square to see where the 5" mark is then go from there

I don't pay any attention to the pinked edges and it works fine for me.

I sewed for years and cut my fabric out with pinking shears so yes. Sew anywhere you want

Take a ruler and measure your squares to see where the 5 inch mark falls.

Exactly...depending on where you purchased them, some are not always true 5 inch so it's safe to measure.
