binding color
I'm almost finished a scrappy quilt. For the body of the quilt I just used scraps. I thought to unify the quilt with the same fabric for sashing ,border & binding. Of course I can't get more of this fabric and I have less than a 1/4 yard left for binding. I used a med. green with white vines for border & sashing. Any ideas for binding.

I would probably use a solid, dark green that blends with the green in your border. I prefer dark bindings as they are likely to pick up the most soiling, and a dark binding usually frames the quilt nicely.

How about a green and white stripe binding?
|
how about taking it to the fabric store and see what pops out to you?
|
I usually try to use a dark color for binding as well. I also tend to find a color for binding that is the least visible in my quilt top to make those bits 'pop' a bit more. Not sure how this would work for a scrappy quilt but if you have a small amount of a given (darker) color within the top - that's what I would lean towards.

Could you make a scrappy strip from fabrics in the quilt? A scrappy binding in darks would work.

Scrappy binding works for the quilt!
|
I vote for dark scrappy binding.

I will try a scrappybinding. Went to fabric store on the off chance they might have the green I had used. Since bought it about 6 months ago no luck.

I was thinking a tone on tone med. green or slightly darker green that works well with your border fabric will work to unify the quilt and allow the colorful center to be the focus.
