Bought a Brother Pacesetter 8500D today
It's not a current model but brand new in box. Dealer is moving and found this in her stock room. I happen to be there with a friend to buy bobbins for her machine when the dealer brought this out of the stock room saying she didn't know she had one left. She said she sold the last one she thought she had in 2012. I said how much and I don't need lessons. She said how about $250 and I said I'll buy it. I wanted to do embroidery but didn't want to invest a lot in a machine in case I didn't like it.

That's a good model, old technology but a lot of people still use them so they are very sturdy

My friend as a lot of the cards she said she no longer uses since she upgraded. I may do a little embroidery but I'm hoping it won't become a passion. Being able to do a quilt label will be fun. It will do 5 x 7.and came with three hoops.

Great deal! I have had the ULT 2000D for around 15 years and it has been a great machine. Don't do much embroidery anymore but I gave it a good workout over the years.

congrats on right place/right time

Hope you enjoy it. I love my embroidery machine.

I'm sure you'll have fun with your new machine...like Nan said, right place, right time.

Super buy! My friend bought a used one for $500 about 4-5 yrs ago and doesn't have time to use it. But it is excellent machine. You will enjoy sewing AND embroidery. The cards are the only drawback, but you can buy Brother PED Basic for less than $100 and with the reader/writer and blank card you will be able to D/L designs from the internet. Much cheaper than buying cards!

I love my brothers. Bakermom I have the same machine and as long as you. I just broke the bobbin rewinder. So
it has to go in for service. Of course a piece fell into the machine. What a good deal on the Pacer. I bought the PED basic and wish I bought it years ago. |
That is a great buy. I had an 8500 way back when they were new and used it many years. I only upgraded because I wanted a bigger embroidery field. My granddaughter still uses it for sewing (see isn't into embroidery). You were definitely at the right place at the right time. Enjoy our new adventure!
