I attended two days of the 2009 Yokohama Quilt Festival in Japan last week. I wish I had another day there. It was wonderful collection of some fantastic quilts. Most are hand done, only a small seperate section for machine quilts. Here are the top three finishers.
Only their names were in English so I don't know the names given to the quilts. 1st Place winner 2nd Place 3rd Place |
Thanks for posting these!
That octopus rather creeps me out. He is entirely too realistic looking. |
Thank you for posting those pictures. I enjoyed looking at them. My husband and I lived in Japan for 5 years. We came back to the states about 19 years ago. We love the U.S. but we do miss Japan.
At the time that we lived there, I didn't meet any Japanese quilters. (That doesn't mean there weren't any quilters...it just means I didn't meet any.) I would find it very interesting to see how they make their quilts. |
Beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing with us :D :D :D

That octopus quilt is just amazing. I am totally in love! Octopi are so in style right now. I just finished a crocheted one for a commissioned design. It's going to be hard to let it go!!
I am in awe of that quilt though - just gorgeous!! |
