Mis-heard Lyrics
I heard "take the back right girl"....but the Beatles were singing "Paperback Writer".
Have you ever heard part of a song the wrong way? |
No! How dare someone alter a Beatles song :D
|
Oh yes...when I was little, Bob Marley's "Stand Up".
The lyrics actually say, "Get up, stand up! Stand up for your rights." When I was a kid, I heard, "Get up, Santa! Santa for your rights" I wasn't really sure what the "Santa for your rights" part meant, but I thought it was cool that Bob Marley sang about Santa. :D |
Creedance Clearwater Revival....
It's "Bad Moon on the Rise", not "There's a bathroom on the right" .... |
I went through high school on 90s alternative music. Lots of misheard lyrics there! Weird Al's "Smells Like Nirvana" is mostly about not being able to understand anything.
|
As a child I thought the lyrics in Jesus Loves Me were "They are weeds but he is straw" (not "they are weak but he is strong").
|
i got lots of them wrong, but can't remember them now. i just remember how it was a hand to face moment when i found out the true words!
|
Chester I heard about the bathroom in the CCT sang too
i can't list all the lyrics I had wrong |
I remember a friend who thought the Huey Lewis and the News song said the "The heart of rock and roll is in Cleveland" instead of "The heart of rock and roll is still beating". He couldn't figure out why it was in Cleveland. :D
|
When I was a very young girl in Sunday school, I heard, "A Little Chocolate Jesus", not "A Little Talk With Jesus".
And the Roy Orbison song will always be "Phony Baloney", not "Only the Lonely". |
