Hello from Vancouver Island
 

I have dabbled for many years in sewing mostly for my children making them costumes and clothes. Approximately eight years ago I made my first quilt and learned so much from the Internet and YouTube. I was hooked from that point on. Since that first quilt there have been several moves across the country and changes to my life and as a result I have many unfinished quilting projects.

I have not joined the local quilt guild here yet. I am hoping to attend a meeting this fall and hopefully join so that I can meet other people with interest and passion for quilting like myself . I have taken a few classes online and at a few local quilt shops. Most recently I did the shimmering symphony masterpiece quilt online course by Karlee Porter. It was so much fun. I would never have been able to complete such a piece without Karlees guidance. I have also done some thread painting. I absolutely love Cindy Needham as well as Kelly Cline vintage quilting. Over this past summer I have become obsessed with scouring thrift stores for vintage linens and I must say I have accumulated quite a stash. I am hoping to actually quilt on some of these pieces this fall.

Looking forward to using this board to meet and learn from other fellow quilters.
