Stop obsessing

Stop or keep going? Purchased this machine last week, everything was varnished over, rusted in place and not much if any old oil. Someone did shellac over the decals in the past, and quart with a brush... Opinions needed, keep on going and risk decals or stop while I'm ahead. Everything else is working now.

If it were mine I'd stop.

Pictures aren't the greatest but I did manage to get most of the brush marks out and the heaviest puddles of shellac off. I just sometimes (all the time) think oh, just a little more.. LOL

I think I would, too.

I would stop to now and sew with it. If you go any more you may damage the decals. The trick to learning to restore old machines is when to stop.

Thanks for input everyone! Looking at it again this morning I think I will stop. Work on getting some rust off the bobbin winder bits.

Nice find. Not many transverse shuttles left.
