Quilting Green: What do I do with the "odd" bits?
I have been using good 100% cotton shirts and love the look they are giving my quilts. However, I never use the cuffs nor do I use the chest pocket piece. I must have 30-40 pocket pieces. Then there's probably 18-20 cuff pairs. I don't piece with small parts so what in the world should I do with these? I was about to pitch them but thought some of you might have your usual good idea or a use for them. I was feeling good about recycling until I hit this wall! Ideas?

I think a top made with just the pocket pieces might be whimsical.

I love the idea of a pocket quilt. I would probably toss the cuffs

Are the pockets still attached to the shirt front fabrics?
|
In the Links and Resources section I posted a link for a quilt called Love Letters- check it out! Great ideas and easy to make.

Use the pockets to make an Advent calendar.

Yes the pockets are still attached to the shirt front. I cut around then leaving a bit of an edge in case I figured out a way to use them for blocks. I am so not a creative person. I just do blocks, avoid even HSTs, but I make about 100 charity tops each year for my guilds.

I have seen cute bracelets made with cuffs. Could use the pockets to make a hanging organizer. (Locker or closet). I made 1 for my boys when they were little out of Jean pockets sewn together. Lot of good ideas on pinterest.
