Heating Fried Chicken ?
DD shared her fried chicken yesterday.Kept leftovers in fridge & just thought....how to heat it for supper? DD says they never have any to re heat.I have oven, micro,Ipot ....no air fryer.
Should it be covered or not? Can’t believe I don’t know how to re heat fried chicken ;) |
the important thing is not to create steam or moisture or it won't be crispy anymore. i would reheat it in the oven. my mom would be horrified to turn on the big oven for a few pieces of chicken. luckily, i have a toaster oven to do it in. if you don't, and the thought of turning on the oven for this task goes against the grain, perhaps you can plan on putting in a cake or something when the chicken is done :)

Thank you. That lets out the micro & IPot.....so the oven it is.Have 5 pieces,so worth heating up.

I re-heat fried chicken by simply frying it again, but only long enough to warm it up. That way it stays crispy.

cold fried chicken yum yum

I am a firm believer that left over fried chicken is eaten cold, but that said...I reheat my chicken in a hot 375 degree oven on a rack over a cookie sheet in case there is grease spill. It works great, the chicken comes out crispy and does not take more than 10 minutes.

What is "leftover fried chicken"? lol

Fried chicken is one of those dishes than tastes just as good cold as it does warm. That's the reason it's a popular picnic dish. Makes a great cold sandwich with a cranberry spread.
