FM or stippling on Brother PQ1500 ???
Hi...
I wonder which thread weight gives the best results on the Brother PQ1500....while FM or stippling... I bought years ago a box of prewound thread ...it was excellent...I wasn,t smart enough to keep the box or to write down the number or name of the thread.... Now I need to start looking....will appreciate any help..... Thanks |
Almost any wt will work. I like 60 wt Bottom Line on cones.

Any thread, really but I like a slightly heavier thread on top.

I have a Brother PQ 1500 Nouvelle I bought used and after a lot of struggle with thread breaking it will do nice stippling with just about any now. I use a large needle, not universal. I think it is a microtex 100. Different threads give different looks, so practice with some and see how you like it. My machine doesn't like me to go very fast, but I can go fast enough so I think we have come "to terms" so to speak.

Thank you girls so much.....I really appreciate your responds....
I never bather to learn about threads....till now....and its such great machine.... Thanks and hugs to all of you...happy Stippling |
I like the thread from Connecting Threads. Good variety of colors and very little fuzz! I use both the cone and the smaller size. My Brothers 1500 like this thread both for piecing and FMQ.

Someone gave me a Grace Speed control that works great on my Brother 1500. The speed stays constant. I plugs in where the foot control goes and is push button. Two speeds. It is much easier to do FMQ when I don't have to think about sewing speed.
