Illuminated cutting mat
Has anyone bought the Illuminated Cutting Mat by CutterPillar?
I looked for reviews and couldn't find any. I'm thinking about asking Santa to bring it for Christmas. |
This is news to me...

I bought it at Houston Quilt Festival. I haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's actually a very thin and rugged light box with a removable overlay that can be used with a rotary cutter. I also bought the glass overlay. One of the features that I really like about this one is that it has a rechargeable battery, so you can use it when it's not plugged in. I bought it on the last day of Festival, when it was heavily discounted.

It is expensive, but innovative. |
Great information. Yes, it's innovative! For cutting mat purposes, though, I would want it larger. Also, he didn't show how well you would be able to see through two layers of fabric. I very rarely cut only a single layer. Would be a wonderful, compact light box!

Don't shoot the messenger! I just yesterday saw this offered as a FREE gift if you bought x $ worth of product, but I can not for the life of me remember what site! Great deal if you are buying anyway, why not take advantage. Maybe some one brighter than this lite box can find it?

I have a small translucent cutting mat that I use over my regular (olllld) light box.

Love new ideas and the cost isn't too bad but I wonder if I "really" need it. LOL

Hi Linda,
It was https://sparrowquiltco.com/ Sparrow Quilting that had that offer yesterday. It was a great deal for Americans who had the extra bonus of a favourable exchange rate, as Sparrow is located in Alberta Canada. I think it would be great for tracing sewing patterns too. |
I think I want one but I'll wait until I read more reviews about it or see one in a store that will demo it.
