Amazon Echo or Dot

Anyone use an Amazon echo or Dot. Any advise or input?

We have the Echo. My DH uses it a lot for listening to music. It's a pretty good item, I think.

I got an Echo last Christmas. Still in the box! LOL

We have the Echo dot. DH and I love it. He likes to ask questions that I would have no way of answering, so I bought it for his birthday. Now he can ask her. And he does. We also play music and she will tell you a story or a joke. I actually bought one for every family on my Christmas list. The families with little kids can get homework help and she will spell words for them. She will also quote Bible verses, help since DN's husband is a minister.

I'm not much into devices that can listen in to what is going on in my home. I like my privacy. I'll just have to use my old fashioned computer and look up the answers to my questions. It's probably better for my brain to do that anyway.

Both DH and myself are the same. Anything can be hacked nowadays and I don't need anyone watching for listening to me.

This can really happen?

Nothing like that here. I seem to have the ability (but not proud of it), to somehow manage, no matter how hard I try to do it right, to screw up any thing to do with electronic equipment.

I don't have one a) the 'open mike' issue; 2) not paying yet more of a monthly fee for something I don't really need.
