Does anyone have a singer hand crank machine?
 

I have one and haven’t used it in a while. Do you use yours? I am thinking it would be nice to use when watching tv since it doesnt make noise.

You asked about A handcrank. Errr how about multiple handcranks.. The answer is yes. Singer 66, 99, 28, 127. Others also.

My GF's granddaughter only wants to use hand cranks since they aren't as scary as electrical power. 3 stitches per revolution. Friday GF and chrisquilts and I let 800 school kids use our three handcranks and look at a 4th. One of the machines came from jpwest. Pics later. But they are great for quiet places or places without electricity.

I really like sewing with hc's and have five: 27, 28 (2), 127, and a 128. I am currently using a 28 to sew two granddaughter dresses. I am not allowed out of my sewing room with any of my sewing machines because I am too messy! I originally got them to teach my dgd's to sew when they get older.

I've got a 66 with a hand crank but it looks like it is a modern addition, the machine is from 1931. I've dabbled with it but never used it for much.

I have converted a Singer Redeye 66 into a handcrank (motor was bad) but haven't really had time to play on it yet.

It is nice to meet others out there. I had to watch the movie “The Man Who Knew Too Much” to figure out you could just keep spinning the wheel so you could sew faster. I have always sewed slowly with it. I am hoping to use my hand crank more in my new home. I will send pictures once I get it set up in late February or so.

some of the grade schoolers, (mostly boys) really got our machines spinning fast.

I have a 99 that I just got a little while ago. I have joined the 18th Mystery Train and am giving serious thought to using just the hc to see how it goes:) I love playing around with my people powered machines, so this might be interesting.

I have a 201K. I use it for all my piecing. Only use my electric Janome for bindings and if I quilt my own quilt.

I just bought a Singer 128k long bobbin hand crank from my local charity shop. The machine and case look in great condition but I haven't had a chance to try it yet as the shuttle is missing the bobbin, I have to source one. There is a video on youtube, which gives me an idea on how to give it a clean and service.

I like the idea of being able to sew off-grid so to speak. I volunteer at a local "museum" which has some really early machines and I want to be able to demonstrate on open days.
