Baby Shower Gift

I have a baby shower to attend next month, so I used it as an excuse to make a quilt. This is a little larger than I anticipated, but better too big than too small. The quilt is for a baby boy and I hope the family likes it even though it's loaded with florals. I picked fabrics that I wanted to work with and figured the parents wouldn't turn it away, lol.
I used all 30's reproduction fabric from Joann's for the prints and I think Kona Snow for the white and a light blue Kona solid. The backing is a plaid that was in the perfect color scheme to match. The binding is some Christmas stripe that I had leftover and I thought it matched the personality of the quilt. This quilt was my inspiration: And this was what I made: I just did straight line quilting with my walking foot and echoed some of the seams. Thanks for looking! |
Oh it's darling. And, I love all your fabric choices. The backing and binding are perfect!! I think the happy couple will love the quilt. It's actually the perfect blend of unisex and boy. Great job!

Love the colors. The soft blue was a really nice choice. Between that and the plaid backing, this is perfect for a baby boy :-)

An adorable baby boy quilt that I'm sure the parents will love :) It looks so cozy with the soft blue and plaid backing. And pinwheels are always fun! Very nice - did you quilt it on your Juki?

Thank you everyone! As a way to use up some of the scraps, I made some little pacifier clips to match:
