Speaking of Christmas Gifts. . . .

More and more of my friends are using their own cloth grocery bags, do you? And if so, what size have you made them? Is there a quick pattern you have used? It seems pretty simple but, maybe, you guys have already tested the waters and know what works best.

I would really like to know the sizes you make. Too big cannot carry, too small not worth making. I have 3 I bought as bags for fabric shopping, almost too small or I would use them for sizing.

I got a WM (actually Meijer) reusable bag and used that for a pattern. I used a canvas drop cloth from a home improvement store.

I made some for my mother out of one of her favorite heavy tablecloths, the came out so pretty.
I disassembled a bag I liked for the pattern

I have a hodge podge of grocery store ones, the key problem is remembering to take them into the store.

If someone here is making veggie bags I'd like to buy some, put a note on the for sale side of the forum.

This is what I do also. Those bags are soooo strong & will hold anything! They also last a very, very long time. I've made tons for my DD & she loves them. I use webbing for the handles.

Here's the site I use for my pattern. I've changed up the size a bit to accommodate my DD's needs.

I cut apart the store's plastic bag and made a pattern from that.
