Newbie looking for West Coaster to do a refurb on Singer 29

Hello, we are fresh to this forum. Thank you for having us.

We have a working 1930 Singer 29K51 that we would like to have the head refurbished and powder coated or painted. We are not looking for the standard black with factory decals. We are doing a Hot Rod version of this machine and wanting glossy red or even flaked so that we can have a local artist pinstripe it.

We are in Reno NV so pretty easy access to most West Coast cities for drop off. If anyone has any great recommendations we would sure appreciate it.

Have you considered going to a auto painter?

Have several of those that I have worked with but none that can refurb a sewing machine.

Hi and welcome from North Carolina! I can't help you with your question, but you'll hear from lots of vintage machine owners here.

we do have several west coast members on the Victorian Sweat Shop board. If you strip the machine down and prep the parts that need to be painted, an auto body shop should be able to paint them for you. Then it's up to you to put it back together. You may not find someone that will do that part for you, but there are several poeple on that board that have done it so you can get lots of advice and encouragement. They really are not that hard to do.
