How do I get ahold of her?

I've Googled all over and I can't find a contact. Anyone?

She had a devastating stroke a few years back and has slowly recovered. Ricky Tims seems to be a close friend of hers. I agree with Kalama, try writing/emailing TQS.

Just curious - simply giving her credit and saying your work is derivative of hers isn't enough for the show?

Double check your rules. I know our quilt guild's show, as long as you credit the designer, you are fine. Especially in cases of nationally known people, who would be impossible to give permission to every person who entered one of their quilts in a show. Even if it is just an "inspired by" and credited.

Omg that is outstanding! Alex and Ricky had a Youtube of her after she started recovering from her stroke. I also say contact them.

you could probably get a letter forwarded via her publisher if they are still in business. Before email that was the standard route of contact

As suggested, try her publisher. They might be able to give permission directly or to forward your request.

I heard back from Alex Anderson, which was very nice of her. She suggested that I don't need permission, only that I give credit to the designer, but the rules are pretty clear that you have to have the designers OK for any "derivative" work.

I will try the publisher next.
