Hi all, I'm hoping to pick your brains, to identify this wee machine. Of late I've been volunteering at a small community museum, giving their wee collection of VSMs a bit of spit and polish. So far they've all been Singers. DH and I disagree on whether this one is a Singer or not - he thinks it is, I'm not so sure . It has no oval Singer badge, there are no Simanco numbers on the parts, no obvious serial number, and no 'Singer' on the decals, although there is the faint impression of one letter there, but it's so faint the DH and I also disagree on what letter it is :D. The only number I can find anywhere is etched into the chrome of the near-side shuttle cover, the number being 3311393. I'll put some more pics into the comments. fingers crossed someone recognises what this is :). Thank you in advance. Kate Scotland |

A couple more pics, including one alongside my Featherweight, to show scale. (I do have the shuttle and a couple of bobbins :).)

It may be an early New Home.

New Home is what I would have guessed if I knew enough to hazard a guess. But I really don't, so I didn't.

So according to ISMACS this little girl is from 1882.
136 years young. Hope I look as good when I get to that age :D |
