Jack's Peacock

1 Attachment(s)
At Christmas, my SIL showed me a video of her 3yo grandson Jack squealing with delight viewing a peacock. I thought maybe I could make him a peacock quilt. While searching for a simple idea for it, I came across some royalty-free clip art that really pleased me but too complicated for his quilt. Our quilt guild challenge happened to be flora or fauna... so this fit. I made the freezer paper pattern and did the peacock in invisible raw edge applique. The quilting is FMQ and ruler work. This is the biggest project I've ever attempted. I named it Jack's Peacock.

Oh, what a kind and thoughtful thing to do! It's beautiful, too.

I think you have done amazingly well! I love the bright colors overall perfection. Explain please, what is 'invisible raw edge applique'? My dad used to have all kind of animals including peacocks!

Thanks, Toogie. one sews the cut out appliques to the background with invisible thread; i used a narrow zig zag. the method is 'invisible'
