Washing New Table Runners made with Old Fabrics
Right now, as we speak, I have a couple of Christmas table runners in the washing machine. I made them with fabric that I bought at an estate sale - 3 gigantic bins at $10/bin! It was in amazing shape, and some name brands. I have no idea how old it is, though. So ... I've got two table runners that were made with green, Red, and white prints being washed right now, along with a couple of Carbona color catchers. I don't have a question ... I just needed to talk to people who understand, while I sit here and bite my nails!!

They are Fine!!! Woo-hoo!!! :)
And the weird thing: the color on the color catcher was Green, not red!! |
Very good news! Each experiment is an individual experience, right?

This is why I wash fabric before cutting and I still bite my nails while it's in the wash. You are braver than me!

Glad it worked out for you! How did you resist sticking your head in the top loading washer see how they were doing?
|
Those color catchers really are amazing. Congrats on your great fabric score! Would love to see pics of what you made with it.

I'm so happy that all worked out. Great find.
